WATER PIPES IN GAOTH DOBHAIR OVERDUE REPLACEMENT – O DOMHNAILL

first_imgDonegal Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill has criticised the Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan for not approving the necessary funding to replace the water pipe network from Derrybeg to Glassagh in Gaoth Dobhair. The Fianna Fáil Senator said, “I have raised this issue a number of times with both Donegal County Council and the Department of Environment after several local residents raised concerns about the poor quality of the pipe network. This system was installed in 1954 and is in serious need of upgrade.“A number of local residents are getting increasingly worried about the particularly high Iron, Manganese and Aluminium levels found in the water in the Carrick area in Gaoth Dobhair. This is most likely connected with the problems associated with the outdated pipe network. The Donegal Senator says he has now contacted the Environment Minister Phil Hogan yet again to highlight these worrying issues.“I am again asking him to immediately provide funding to begin meeting the €717,000 upgrading costs associated with this work.” WATER PIPES IN GAOTH DOBHAIR OVERDUE REPLACEMENT – O DOMHNAILL was last modified: December 12th, 2012 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Phil HoganreplacementSENATOR BRIAN O DOMHNAILLwater pipeslast_img
